We will start this excursion from the Palace of Knossos which is the monumental symbol of Minoan civilization, due to its construction, use of luxury materials, architectural place, advanced building techniques and impressive site. Knossos was the seat of the legendary King Minos and the main center of power in Crete. Most of the exhibits in the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, where we will go after Knossos, are findings of the Knossos Palace.
For lunch we will go to Kavrohori, near to Heraklion to a traditional taverna, with local tastes. And after lunch we will visit another historical village named Tylisos, just a few kilometres from the town. Tylisos has a very nice archaeological place from the Minoan years. At the end we will have the opportunity to have a coffee at Agia Pelagia, a small coastal town with a lovely beach, before the way back home.
